A light drizzle in the evening, and the weather was awesome. Juss right for some hot and spicy Masala puri and Paani puri. There is this Gaadi at Jayanagar 7th block, near the Coffee Day, on the main road leading to Yediyur lake. Its been very looong since I had masala puri that tasted THAT good and, the Pani puri is heavenly !! Yummmm… 😛
After the “Paani puri craving” was satisfied, Karthik and I tried out the new “Chat masala”. It wasn’t good. the Masalapuri gaadi sucked at Bhel puri and chat masala. The churmuri gaadi fellows makes the best churmuri (or Bhel puri as some might relate to it) and all the chat masala stuff. But, these churmuri gaaadis suck when it comes to paani puri and sev puri. Wotever, these things are best at these gaadis and there are NO good hotels/restaurants/darshinis that can boast of Good Chaats.
Then, came the hot boiled kadlekai (groundnuts). The “Time Pass Kadlekai” concept is unbeatable. The best ever. Both of us had a “HandFull” of it. Being severely influenced by the unreasonabey expensive Forum mall, i was surprised, when he said, it costs only Four rupees. Sitting at the famous “Somberi Katte” at the Shopping Complex, a good half an hour of busy splitting open the kadlekai and watching the world go by, chatting away and recalling the old days… Couldn’t get better. Well, it could have, had there been more Dust Bins around !!!
There are huge boards claiming the place to be a “Litter free” zone and we couldn’t find ONE damn f****ng Dust bin around. Pardon me for the language, but, it pissed me to no end. Both of us somehow managed to collect all the groundnut peels back in the same cover, and put it in one smallllll overflowing dustbin. Even the one in my office, kept only for mee, is bigger than tha one provided there, supposedly meant for a few thousand people. I had half the mind to Throw all the groundnut peels all over the board claiming the “litter free” thing.
Next came the “Sugar Cane Juice”. I couldn’t recollect the last time i had it !!! It was one of my Favvvourite during a hot and a sweaty day outdoors. Well, it still is. On the walk back to our gaddi, we saw the Jola Gaadi (Maize). A bigg spicy JoLa, lipsmacking one. We extended our walk a little further, to make time for the joLa. Yet again, NO dustbins around.
A short drive back, and the light drizzle starts again. Its almost as beautiful as a snowfall. The rain drops are so small that they float around in the air. A short walk, and you don’t get wet, but, you can easly feel the water droplets all over the face. A good half an hour on the terrace, watching the rain.
A Perfect evening.
