It had been cloudy all day and i had this hunch of a good rain for the drive back home. But, it wasn’t raining when i last saw through the window. There was an urgency in all the two-wheelers on the road. Its still 5:30 PM. A couple of strides from my cubicle, into the elevator and a gloomy stroll through the basement, i reach out to my car. The much awaited BEEP BEEP of my car central locking system (i got it repaired a week ago) lights up my mood. The stressful day at office is over. A good 16 hours to go before i get back into that cubicle again !!
As i drive up the ramp from the basement, into the open space, i see that it started to pour. A heavy sheet of Big drops of rain, thumping on the windshield and the drums playing on the tin roof top making it one of the most beautiful music that never fails to put a smile on my face. As i drive slowly, enjoying evry moment of it, the rain subsides and the sun peeks through a thin layer of clouds far away in the horizon. The golden rays of sun making the little drops of rain sparkle as it splashed onto the road. It was more like a Dream sequence!!
All of a sudden, it started pouring heavily, bringing down the visibility even as the windshieldwipers worked at it’s full speed. The road blurred and the Red tail lights of the vehicles ahead dispersed in the sheet of water revived a lot of memories.
The first trip to Ooty, in my brand new gaDDi, the first experience of driving in heavy rain amidst lush green environs is simply unforgettable. The hoots from the back seat, cheering the rain to go further as we drove along the curves in almost zero visibility.
The next one was a drive through MarathHalli, as my friend and i stepped out to go shopping, it started pouring heavily. We continued our shopping as We had an umbrella. But, that only managed to keep our heads dry. The wind and the rain was so much that we were almost drenched by the time we got back into the car. The sheet of water covering up the windshield no matter what speed the wipers work. The slow drive back home with the sound of the rain hitting the car was one of the bestest ever.
The drive to Nandi Hills. We were there for the best time yuu can ever be there. The picture says it all. Thats Nandi Hills you see here:We were there, amidst the Clouds!!
Reliving beautiful moments makes a short drive back home from Office Priceless !!
